Suspicious crypto message, email or text: what now?

Plain-language guide · updated 27 October 2026

Short answer

Real support, admins and companies never message you first, and never ask for your recovery phrase, your private key or a payment up front. A message that creates urgency, names a reward, or sends you to a link, a file or a command has the known signs of a scam. You can forward such a message to the Telegram bot @Veydor_check_bot or paste the text into it; the bot only reads the text, opens nothing and tells you which known signs are in it.

Paste the address and check it yourself

Veydor shows, in plain language, which known dangers a Solana coin has right now. Free, no account, and Veydor never asks you to connect your wallet.

Go to the check

A check is a snapshot: a coin can change within minutes. A new check shows the situation at that moment.

Where these messages come from

Often right after you asked a question in a group or under a post: a private message arrives from someone posing as support, an admin or a helper. Also as an email or text in the name of a wallet, an exchange or a delivery service, as a reply under a post, or from an account with almost the same name as an admin you know. The message often looks polished, with a logo and an official tone; that means nothing.

The signs you can see yourself

Urgency. You have to act now, or you lose something or miss out on something.

A reward. An airdrop, a payout, a prize or a refund you get out of nowhere, usually after you first ‘confirm’ something or send a small amount.

Your words. A request for your recovery phrase, your private key, or to ‘sync’, ‘validate’ or ‘verify’ your wallet. Nobody needs those, for anything.

A link or a file. An address that looks like the real one, or an attachment you are meant to open. Wallets and exchanges never send a file through a chat.

A command. A line of code or a series of steps you are meant to paste or run somewhere.

One sign is already reason to open nothing and not to reply. A message without these signs can still be a scam.

How to have it checked

In Telegram: press and hold the message, choose Forward and send it to @Veydor_check_bot. You do not need to type anything with it.

Email, text, WhatsApp or another app: copy the text of the message and paste it into the chat with the bot.

A file: send it to the bot. The bot does not download or open the file; it only looks at the name and the type.

The bot tells you whether the text has known signs of a scam, which ones in plain language, and what it cannot see. It opens no link and does not keep the message. If the text contains a link that looks like a wallet, exchange or app, it also tells you whether that is the official address.

What you can do with the message

Do not reply, do not click, do not paste anything and do not send anything. If you want to know whether something is really wrong with your account or wallet, type the official address yourself or open the app already on your phone. Block the sender and report the message to the platform it came through. Report it to the police and to your country’s official fraud-reporting service; where that is differs per country.

Frequently asked questions

Can I also have an email or text message checked?

Yes. Copy the text and paste it into the chat with @Veydor_check_bot. The bot only reads that text; it does not see the sender, attachments or headers, so the result is about the words in the message.

Does Veydor read my messages?

No. Veydor only sees what you forward or paste yourself, opens nothing and does not keep the message. In a group the bot only does coin checks, no message checks.

The bot says: no known signs seen. Is it fine then?

You do not know that from this. It only means the known signs are not in the text. The rule still applies: nobody genuine asks for your words or for a payment up front.

Someone offers to recover my lost coins. Is that real?

No. This is a known second step after a loss: against a payment up front, or with access to your wallet. A transaction on the blockchain cannot be reversed, by anyone. What you can do after a loss is on the page about a rug pull and in the bot under /lost.
