How do you check a Solana coin for a rug pull?

Plain-language guide · updated 27 October 2026

Coin or token: the words are used interchangeably for the same thing. Here it is always called coin.

Short answer

Copy the coin’s address and look at a few things that are public on the blockchain: whether the creator can still make new coins, whether they can lock your coins, how much money is in the trading pool and whether a few wallets own almost everything. Those dangers show up early, not only when it is too late. Nobody can say whether a coin will go up, but the known traps can be seen in advance.

Paste the address and check it yourself

Veydor shows, in plain language, which known dangers a Solana coin has right now. Free, no account, and Veydor never asks you to connect your wallet.

Go to the check

A check is a snapshot: a coin can change within minutes. A new check shows the situation at that moment.

What you check, in plain language

Can the creator make more coins? If so, they can create extra coins at any moment and sell them. Your share then becomes worth less. This is called mint authority.

Can the creator lock your coins? If so, they can put your coins on hold: you still see them, but you cannot sell. This is called freeze authority.

How much money is in the trading pool? You sell to that pool. If there is little in it, you get less than you expect when selling, or the pool can run empty. See rug pull and liquidity gone.

Who owns the coins? If a few wallets together own almost everything, they can sell all at once and the price drops hard.

How old is the coin? A coin that is only a few hours old has not proven anything yet. Most new memecoins are worth almost nothing after a short time.

Is this the real one? Well-known coins often have copies with the same name. So look at the address, not only at the name.

Where do you find the address?

The address is a long string of letters and numbers. You find it on the coin’s page, for example on Pump.fun or DexScreener, or in your wallet app when you tap the coin. In Veydor you can also paste a link from Pump.fun, DexScreener, Solscan or Birdeye, or search by name.

What a check cannot do

A check shows how the coin looks right now. It does not predict a price and cannot see whether the attention for a coin will last. A coin without known traps can also fall hard. Green at Veydor therefore means: we did not find the known tricks. It does not mean the coin is safe.

Frequently asked questions

Is this memecoin safe?

Nobody can say that with certainty. A check shows whether the known traps are present right now. If they are not, the coin can still go to zero when attention fades or big owners sell.

How do you recognise a rug pull?

In a rug pull the creators take the money out of a coin all at once. The warning signs are often visible beforehand: the creator can still make new coins or lock coins, there is little money in the pool, or a few wallets own almost everything. What happens afterwards is covered in rug pull and liquidity gone: what now?

Do I have to connect my wallet to check a coin?

No. A check only needs the public address of the coin. A site that asks you to connect a wallet or enter your seed phrase (your secret recovery phrase) in order to ‘check’ a coin has no reason to do so.

What does a check cost?

Nothing. The check at Veydor is free, without an account.

How often should I check a coin?

A check is a snapshot. A coin can change within minutes, so a check from yesterday says little about today.
